Day10, Camino Walk, Redondela to Pontevedra

Miles-13.3, Time-5:32, Weather- Sun w/clouds, Temp-70’s, Elevation-1142ft. Our night time accommodations were very nice and quiet. We started our walk a little before 8am, meet a couple from Washington St, walked and chatted with them a bit. Our exit out of Redondela was not to bad, a few up hills but nothing to bad. Stopped a little cafe for our morning coffee and we split a chocolate croissant. Then we started to experience a lot of up hill climbs through various little villages. Then the highlight of my day was having to cross an old ancient Roman Bridge. Soon after that we stated to climb up into the woodlands. Nice thing, most was shade tree canopy trails so we were shaded from the sun. So many more pilgrims now on the trail since this is now the main trail into Santiago. We stopped at another small cafe for fresh squeezed OJ and I had another coffee. Then in was back into the woodlands, we decided to take an alternate trail the followed a river for a couple miles, it was very nice and peaceful to say the least. We reached Pontevedra about 3:30 and made our way to our hotel for our two night stay. Tomorrow is our second rest day on this trip. We plan to do our laundry and Maryann is going to rest her knee. We found a Mexican type restaurant for dinner. I have been craving tacos🌮🌮’s. Maryann went with the chix mole enchilada’s. They brought us some chips and salsa, it had 5 total chips with two small bowls of salsa🤣🤣. Overall day was nice, talked to a lot of people. Enjoy the picks of our day.
