Day8, Camino Walk, Sabaris to Vigo
Miles-14.6, Time-6:28 hrs, Weather- Sunny w/ hazy sky’s, Temp-mid 70’s, Elevation -736ft. Today started by walking along coastline beaches, we even got to walk on a nice sandy beach for a bit. Then things started to change due to the rocky coastline. So we found ourselves walking through local neighborhood’s and winding around streets and going down to the coast then back up again. This went on for a good 2 hrs before we stopped to have our daily Coke Zero and people watch. We finally reached the long stretches of white sandy beach’s and were able to meander down the concrete boardwalk for a bit. As we came to the end of one of the beach’s, I glanced out and saw a naked man walking on the beach, then I noticed everyone was naked, Yikes MY EYES!!!!. It was starting to get late in the day and we still had over 4 miles to walk so we veered off the coast and headed inland for a more direct route to our hotel. We ended up going up into Vigo then back down towards the harbor finally making it to our hotel. We are finding out that the miles are longer going along the coastal route than the book maps are showing. We didn’t think today was going to be a 14+ mile day and Maryann’s knee is screaming at her at this point and time😢, once again the pics are not in order.
