Day7, Camino Walk, Viladesuso to Sabaris

Miles walked-12.6, Time-5:37hrs, Weather-Sunny mid 70’s. Today was 90% road walking. Our path was a painted wide yellow strip, taking us just above the coastline. Our first stop was at a fancy Spa resort for breakfast. Went with the buffet style breakfast, and we

chowed down, hiker hunger kicking in. Right before the Spa resort our trail split in two. One direction going up and over the mountain to Baiona ( the coastal route) or staying on the road that runs along the shoreline ( the Litoral route) to Baiona, that’s what we took. Our Camino route is actually the Litoral Camino Route which is different than the Coastal Camino Route. The two routes do merge together a few times, but mostly they are separate routes. We keep seeing things from all the videos we have watched in preparation for our walk, and we keep saying, I remember seeing that from someone’s video, now we can say we saw it for ourselves. As we entered Baiona, the first thing you see is this massive castle/fort. They say it’s been there since around the 12th century, crazy. Then we find out the ship Pinta, from Columbus’s sail to the Americas  Pinta, Nina, & Santa Maria, was the first of the three ships to return to Spain with news of Americas discovery, landed in Baiona. History lesson there. We stopped to have our daily Coke Zero rest break, great people watching time. Then it was on to our Hotel for and end to our Camino Walk. Enjoy the pic.
